ABSTRACT
A study
on the population and habitat of
oriental hard clam (Meretrix meretrix Linnaeus, 1758)
along coast of Tarakan City had been conducted from februari to april 2009. Oriental hard clam and associated macrozoobenthic animals were sampled (10 m x 10 m) at 6th fixed stations with 3 replicates which were spred along the coast of
Tarakan. The abiotic enviromental factors measured are water temperature, dissolved
oxygen, visibility, depth, pH, turbidity, total suspended solid, total dissolved
solid and sediment properties (particle composition and sediment pH). During this study we have discover the density,
diversity and distribution of oriental hard clam. The results show that the
density of oriental hard clam is very low and indicates the over-exploitation
on this species. We also discover by the Wilhm criteria that the low mark for
diversity of makrozoobenthic community indicates that the waters are polluted
at medium level.

ABSTRACT
Juata waters
is the side of Tarakan Island and it has high biodiversity. The water quality
have important rules in this waters as indicator type of waters. Considering
that condition a study of water quality condition was very importance. This
study was studied from Mei until December
2009. Sampel waters collected
at intertidal area with survey method
and stratified systematic sampling. In each location divided based on 2 station area every take
the sample. From physical
parameters condition were founded that transparency about 170 cm until 215 cm, temperature
30 until 31oC and speed of
current about 0.31 m/s - 0,61 m/s. Type
of tidal in juata waters is Mixed Tide Prevailing Semi Diurnal. Chemical parameters
water condition were founded that
salinity is about 18.8 until 24.3 promil, pH obout 7.82 - 8.02, Dissolved oxygen (DO) obout 5.17 until 6.50 mg/l, conductor
of electicity about 30.1 mS/cm - 38.3 mS/cm, nitrat content about 0,1 mg/l until 0,8 mg/l and fosfat
content about 0.38 mg/l until 0.64 mg/l.
From this research faounded that nitrat and fosfat content is inversly with plankton abundance.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was find out the expression of NFkB cell Molecule on eye
tissue Humpback grouper (C. altivelis) which was exposed to the VNN (Viral
nervous necrotic) virus immunogenic proteins as an immune system that has the
ability to prevent viral replication. The method used in this study is to
detect expression of NFkB cell molecule with Immunohistochemistry Test. Based
on previous research, determined that the protein band used as a candidate
protein is immunogenic VNN protein band with molecular weight of 45.9 kD. The
result of immunohistochemical examination showed that the determinant of
antigen (epitopes) of 45.9 kD immunogenic protein capable of inducing receptor
specific VNN grouper tissue through the formation of immune cells ie cell
molecule NF-kB in mouse grouper specifically on eye tissue. The conclusion is
VNN immunogenic proteins with molecular weight 45.9 kD molecule capable of
expressing cells NF-kB in the eye tissue Humpback grouper.

ABSTRACT
Ilisha elongata is a fish that has a high-economical because it has
a fairly high protein value of 77.46%. Puput fish tastes delicious, and also
has an important nutrient in sufficient need for protein. This research review
Puput Fish Condition Factor (Ilisha elongata) The Derived from Aquatic Juata. The
material used in this study were Puput Fish (Ilisha elongata). Fish whistle
(Ilisha elongata) is done for 3 months ie April, May and June 2010 by using
samples taken from catches of fishermen in the waters around City Juata Tarakan.The
method used in this research is descriptive research method while sampling used
purposive sampling. Data taken form the total length, total weight and gonad.
Analysis and data processing is done by using the formula. Judging from the analysis using the formula,
the price factor Condition (EI) of male fish ranged from 1-3, while the price
of female condition factor of fish ranged from 1-3, mean fish whistle both
males and females have a flat body shape.

ABSTRACT
Bunyu Island
has coastal resources which high potential for marine culture with the total
potential site of about ± 32.654 ha which one has been territorial secondary
water level in national ocean master plan 2003-2028. The purpose of the research was to study the potential of grouper cultivation in
Bunyu Island water used hydro-oceanography and geography
information system with area of about ± 32.654 ha.
The study was conducted with the survey
method and the descriptive
quantitative. The potential of aquaculture
area was observed insitu and exsitu as well as primary data and for secondary
data conducted by identification environmental condition, accessibility, and
infrastructure true supported. The
result of identification was analised based on
matrix of ecosystem suitability analysis for grouper cultivation development
and depth analysis with spatial
analysis. The final result of spatial
analyses showed that the existing grouper cultivation development about ± 38,7% (12.622 ha) matched
with suitable area and about ± 61,3% (20.032 ha) asunsuitable
area.

ABSTRACT
Heavy metal is a chemical elements were considered of water pollution life of organism. This
research aimsto the concentration heavy metal Pb, Ni, Cu, and Cd in water and
sediment. Analysed deite relate at minister decision live environment No. 51,
Year 2004 about standard quality water sea. The method which using Atomic
Absorption Spectrofotometer (AAS) base on the Standart
Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Result of laboratory analaysis showed the
concentration heavy metal of Pb were not detected - 0.2787
mg/l, Ni not detected - 0.0018 mg/l, Cd not detected - 0.0452 mg/l, dan Cu not
detected. In the sediment, concentration of Pb were not detected - 0.1532 mg/g, Ni not detected -
0.025 mg/g, Cu not detected – 0,0217 mg/g, dan Cd not detected.

A B S T R A C T
Ilisha elongata is one commodity that has economic
potential of low-seafood contained in the territorial waters of the island of
Tarakan. Among the fishermen often refer to this whistle fish belonging to
sideline catches because they catch the target fish that have high-economic
value and thus increase revenues of the fishermen. Assessing the potential of this research Puput fish (Ilisha elongata) viewed from another aspect inherent in the body of
a fish with a test protein in a laboratory scale. The material used in this study were Ilisha elongata. Sampling fish in getting directly from the fisherman
catches the fish whistle (Ilisha elongate) derived from the waters of the island of Tarakan in
East Kalimantan juwata on 8 June 2010. The method used in this research is kjedahl
research method while using desktruksi research procedure, distillation and
titration. Data taken in the form of the protein in laboratory scale testing
using a variety of reagent materials. Judging from the results of studies that
have been done for four days in basic laboratory and laboratory of nutrition
and fish feed FPIK Tarakan-UB, then obtained a significant result on the
potential value of protein contained in the body of fish whistle, which the
test results of proteins that have been done explained that this whistle fish
including fish that have high economic value (high-economically) because the
protein contained at 77.46%.

ABSTRACT
The study titled The
Effect of Different Solid Scatter On Growth and Survival
in Fattened crab (Scylla
sp) was triggered background that the prospects for the cultivation of
fattening mangrove crabs in Tarakan Island is very promising. Result Field observations and
surveys on cultivation fattening mud crab uses a inds
per m2 stocking. This study aimed to investigate the influence different densities of
the effects of heavy growth and survival of mud crab (Scylla sp).This study was started
in July and until August. This research includes some preparation,
among others: land preparation and container research,
preparation of research materials, implementation research and data
analysis. The method used CRD (Completely Randomized
Design) with four treatments and three times 1 inds
per m2 density treatment A, treatment B density 2 inds per
m2, treatment C density of 3 inds per m2 and treatment D 4 inds
per m2 density.
The results that the difference in solid performed
density did not significantly affect
growth and survival of mud crab (Scylla sp). Treatment D shows the
average additional weight The highest absolute that is equal to 43.8 grams and the
addition of The lowest weight of treatment B of 25 gr. For percentage
survival rate of A reaching test animals 100% and
B only reached 50%.

ABSTRACT
Anisakiasis is a parasitic disease in fish caused by
infection of larval stage III anisakid and can be transmitted to humans
(zoonoses). This study aims to determine (1) the distribution pattern of larvae
anisakid on tuna (Euthynnus sp.) (2) the prevalence and average intensity of
infection in fish larvae anisakid tuna (Euthynnus sp.) Who landed at Tarakan,
East Kalimantan Province. Marine fish used for research that is tuna (Euthynnus
sp.) As many as 30 individuals were taken from fish landings Tarakan Beringin
market. Examination results were analyzed statistically anisakid larvae which
approaches the average value, standard deviation, and variance. The results
showed that tuna (Euthynnus sp.) Had clumped distribution pattern, S2> (S2 =
3.08, = 1.6). The prevalence of infected larval swordfish anisakid by 60%, and
total average intensity of infection anisakid on tuna larvae is 2.67 ± 1.50.

ABSTRACT
This study is
aimed to know the spreading pattern of heavy metal (Plumbum, Pb) in the water
of Balikpapan Bay, to assess whether its concentration has been exceeding the
threshold or not, and to identify activities standing for its source. The study has been conducted from April 28th
to May 26th 2002 with 12 locations for obtaining samples. The samples are analyzed using AAS (Atomic
Absorption Spectroscopy Method) to measure the heavy metal content. The analyses showed that heavy metal content
(Pb) ranges from 0.075 mg/l to 0.38 mg/l in the water. Several environmental parameters such as
tempereture ranging from 28.6°C to 34.9°C, salinity ranging from 18.8 o/oo to 32 o/oo,
electrical conductivity ranging from 30.46 ms/cm to 46.60 ms/cm, pH ranging
from 7 to 9 , and DO ranging 4.42 mg/l to 6.82 mg/l are also measured. The spreading pattern showed the condensed
pattern at near of coast and watery at middle area of bay and bay mouth.

the threshold according to Governoor’s regulation of the East Kalimantan. The sources of this heavy metal is from transportation,
petroleum refinery, coal polluted, ship docking, and domestic pollution
activities. Nevertheless the life
organism still exist in the polluted water, but it needs special treatment for
consumption purpose
